To manage & analyze a group of related data easier, one can turn a range of cells into an Excel Table. There are different elements of a table. They are as follows....

  • Every table column is filtering enabled so that one can sort the data easily and effortlessly.
  • By default alternate shading distinguishes a table from an ordinary piece of data range.
  • Formula in one cell get transferred to other cells automatically.
  • In tables one can use subtotal function. Where hidden rows are discarded while calculating sum, average and so on.
  • Sizing hand at the right down corner of the table helps to resize the table at ones preference.
  • One can easily insert a row and or column at the end of the arena of the table. Table resizes automatically to fit those new row and or column.
  • Excel assigns a name to the table.
  • Pressing tab moves the active cell to the right but when we reach the last column further tabbing makes the first cell of the next row active. That means activity is restricted within the table range.

Things to remember:
Don't leave blank rows or columns in excel table. Excel table somewhat works in the nature of database tables.
